Job Description
We are assisting a prominent government institution in the UAE in the recruitment of a Director – Digital Products. In this role, the successful candidate will lead the end-to-end strategy, design and delivery of innovative digital products that elevate the citizen experience and support the organisation’s digital transformation ambitions.
Key responsibilities include defining product vision and strategy, leading multidisciplinary product teams, overseeing product development lifecycles, and ensuring solutions are aligned with user needs and organisational priorities. The role also involves championing user experience principles, fostering a culture of digital innovation, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to bring impactful digital services to life.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in digital product management, user-centred design, agile delivery, and scaling digital services within complex environments. Strong leadership, collaboration and product strategy skills are essential. UAE Nationals are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and user experience.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to create user-centered designs.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Design and prototype user interfaces for web and mobile applications using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar.
- Develop responsive front-end code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (and optionally frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular).
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs during implementation.
- Maintain design consistency across all platforms and products by adhering to brand guidelines.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g., responsiveness, navigation flows).
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes and contribute to design and development sprints.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- 2+ years of proven experience as a UI/UX Designer and Developer.
- Strong portfolio showcasing design projects and front-end development work.
- Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch) and prototyping tools.
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience with front-end frameworks (React.js, Vue.js, or Angular) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
